Angela Hicks may not be your typical candidate for Congress, but she is exactly what the 8th District needs in Washington. Angela is a small business owner who earns a living by driving her 21’ rollback truck. She actually knows what it takes to start a business, follow a budget, and create jobs. Above all, she understands that the people of the 8th District have said, “Enough is Enough,” to the federal government’s massive debt, out of control spending, and punishing taxes.
Like many Republicans, Angela is frustrated with the current direction of our country. Her candidacy brings a new and needed energy to the Conservative cause. Hicks believes that we need to get back to basics: Less Government, Lower Taxes, Personal Responsibility, Respect for Life, Protection of US Citizens at home and abroad, and Adherence to the Constitution.
Angela’s private sector experience, conservative principles, and energetic message have earned her the support of Republican leaders like State Senator Ross Tolleson, her honorary Campaign Chairman and State Representative Allen Peake. Hicks also has the support of two previous Republican nominees from Middle Georgia, General Rick Goddard and Calder Clay. Angela continues building her district-wide volunteer network and raising the resources to not only win the Republican nomination, but to defeat Democrat Jim Marshall.
A native of Twiggs County, Angela Hicks received her bachelor’s degree with Summa Cum Laude honors from the University of Georgia. Angela went on to earn her MBA from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville. She covered four states as a Business Planner at Johnson & Johnson for 14 years, opened and ran Innovative Medical Solutions, LLC for nine years, and now owns and operates STUFF IT, a mobile storage company in Macon. Hicks also serves on the Board of Directors for MedCen where she is working to complete the construction of the Inpatient Hospice Home.
Angela and Ricky Hicks have been married for 29 years. They have two children, Harbor and Bailey, 15-year-old twins. Since 1996 they have served as foster parents to 21 infants through Covenant Care Christian Adoption Services. Ricky and Angela are members of Ingleside Baptist where they are Sunday School Leaders.
